Documentation & How to Use

Using Search Terminal is incredibly simple. There are no complicated settings pages for the plugin itself — it just works out of the box.

1. Basic Navigation

  • Look at the top black WordPress Admin Bar. You will see a clean _ cursor and a search input.

  • Press Ctrl + K to activate it.

  • Type what you are looking for (e.g., “cache”, “woo”, “permalinks”).

  • Click the result to jump straight to that page.

2. How the AI Feature Works
Sometimes, you know what you want to do, but you don’t know which plugin handles it.

  1. Type your problem into the Search Terminal (e.g., “How do I change the checkout fields?”).

  2. Instead of hitting Enter, click the AI button on the right side of the terminal.

  3. The plugin will securely scan your active plugins, WP version, and your query, compiling them into a structured “Prompt”.

  4. This prompt is automatically copied to your clipboard.

  5. Paste it into ChatGPT (or Claude). The AI will analyze your installed plugins and tell you exactly which menu slug to type in the terminal!

3. Keyboard Shortcut Protection
If you are writing a post in Gutenberg or the Classic Editor, pressing Ctrl+K will safely open the default “Insert Link” popup. Search Terminal is smart enough not to interrupt your writing workflow.
