  1. Thomas Bennett –

I recently purchased the NKB1000-E from apsardze24.lv, and it’s a solid piece of kit. The joystick control is smooth, and it integrates perfectly with my Dahua setup. Shipping was prompt, and the device arrived in great condition. I’m very satisfied with the build quality and the overall professional service.

    Thomas Bennett –

Does the NKB1000-E (Black) record video directly to an internal hard drive?

No, this device is a dedicated controller designed for managing PTZ movements and DVR menus. It does not have internal storage for video recording; your footage will continue to be stored on your NVR, DVR, or network server.

Can I use the NKB1000-E with Dahua SmartPSS software on my computer?

Yes, the NKB1000-E can be connected to your PC via a USB cable. This allows you to use the physical joystick to control PTZ cameras and navigate the interface within Dahua SmartPSS or DSS management platforms for a more professional workflow.

How does the 3-axis joystick improve the user experience compared to a mouse?

The 3-axis joystick on this Dahua controller allows for simultaneous panning, tilting, and zooming (by twisting the handle). This provides much more fluid and precise tracking of moving objects than clicking on-screen buttons with a mouse.

How do I connect the NKB1000-E to a PTZ camera over a long distance?

You have two main options: you can connect via the Network (RJ45) port for IP-based control over your local network, or use the RS485 interface, which supports serial control at distances up to 1200 meters using high-quality twisted-pair cabling.

Is the NKB1000-E sold by your store an official EU version?

Absolutely. Apsardze24.lv is an authorized partner, and we only provide the official EU version of this controller. This ensures that firmware updates work correctly and that the device is not subject to the regional locks found in 'grey market' imports.

Can this keyboard control PTZ cameras from other brands?

While it is primarily optimized for Dahua Speed Domes using DH-SD protocols, it also supports Pelco-D and Pelco-P protocols. For specific compatibility verification with your non-Dahua hardware, please reach out to our technical support at [email protected].

Does the controller require a separate power supply or is it powered by USB?

When used as a standalone network or serial controller, it requires a dedicated 12V DC power supply (usually included). USB power is generally used for communication with a PC, but the main control functions and the backlit screen require the standard power input.

What happens if my controller stops working after a year?

We provide a comprehensive 2-year warranty for both private individuals and business clients. If you experience hardware issues, our local service center in Riga handles repairs quickly, so you don't have to worry about the delays of shipping equipment abroad.
