Can the FireProtect 2 RB function without an Ajax Hub?

The detector can function as a standalone unit to sound its built-in siren when smoke or heat is detected. However, to receive smartphone notifications, use the app, and enable interconnected alarms, it must be connected to an Ajax Hub.

Will this device trigger other Ajax sirens in my building?

Yes, if the "Interconnected Fire Detectors Alarm" feature is enabled in your Hub settings. When one detector triggers, it activates the built-in sirens of all other fire detectors and any external HomeSirens within the system.

How long do the batteries last in the FireProtect 2 RB version?

The RB (Replaceable Battery) model runs on two CR123A batteries and is engineered to operate for up to 7 years. The batteries are easily replaceable when they eventually run low, extending the device's service life.
