What kind of batteries does the Ajax DualCurtain Outdoor use and how long is the lifespan?

The device comes with two pre-installed CR123A batteries. With standard usage settings, these batteries provide an operational lifespan of up to 4 years before replacement is necessary.

How do I prevent false alarms from bushes or trees with this detector?

The DualCurtain Outdoor features ELSA technology and physical beam adjustment levers. You should limit the detection distance and adjust the horizontal viewing angle (by 3°) to exclude moving vegetation from the guarded perimeter.

What is the purpose of the Near Area Detection feature?

Near Area Detection activates an extra sensor directed downward to cover the blind spot directly below the detector. This prevents intruders from bypassing the alarm by crawling close to the wall.

Will large pets trigger the alarm on the DualCurtain Outdoor?

No, this detector cannot function autonomously. It requires a connection to an Ajax Hub or ReX range extender using the Jeweller radio protocol to transmit alarms and configure settings via the app.

Is it possible to turn off detection on just one side of the Ajax 39055?

Yes, the device has two independent optical systems. You can disable detection on either the left or right side completely, or adjust the detection range (up to 15m) for each side separately through the Ajax app.
