No, this detector acts as a sensor within the Ajax ecosystem and requires an Ajax Hub (Hub, Hub Plus, Hub 2, or Hub 2 Plus) to operate. It cannot connect directly to your Wi-Fi router.

What battery does this model use and how long does it last?

The device comes with two pre-installed CR123A batteries. Under standard settings, they provide up to 5 years of operation, though battery life may decrease in extremely cold temperatures or high-traffic zones.

Can I power the MotionProtect Outdoor with a cable instead of batteries?

Yes, although it is wireless, the detector features terminals for connecting an external 5–28 V DC power supply. This is highly recommended for installations in regions with very cold winters to ensure stable operation.
